IOU Property was founded by Matthew and Jessica Wilson, a husband-and-wife team who turned a challenging start into a thriving property investment journey. The name “IOU” comes from a heartfelt moment when Matt gave Jess an IOU note for a pair of joggers on her birthday—a symbol of their humble beginnings. At the time, they were living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to make ends meet and he wasn't able to buy her a simple gift. That experience became the catalyst for a life-changing decision: to invest in their future and pursue financial freedom.
Matt’s passion for investing and property started in his early years. At just 22, he entered the property market and embarked on a journey filled with valuable lessons. He won’t deny making loads of mistakes along the way, but through determination, consistency, and patience—not "get rich quick" schemes—he persevered and came out stronger on the other side.
